By volunteering in this project you’ll become an important asset for a development programme that works with people with disabilities.

The foundation is a non-profit organisation that works with people with different kinds of disabilities to empower them and help integrate them as productive members of society.  The organisation also aims at developing the community as a whole and supports small local initiatives with available resources.  Their values are built upon solidarity, responsibility, equality, respect, cooperation, honesty and dignity.

You will work in the town of La Vega and help in the organisation and execution of courses, therapy, and events for children, teens, and adults with disabilities.  You will be guided and supported by staff while taking part in orientations upon arrival, during mid-stay, and at the end of your stay.  During these orientations, you’ll learn about the importance of relationship-building with your host family and local community.  The program also welcomes new ideas and suggestions by volunteers.
