The Young Workers Volunteer Program is aimed at young adults who want to clarify career goals and gain intercultural knowledge. People that want to grow personally and gain work experience.

This 12-months program provides you with an easily accessible opportunity for effecting positive societal change through volunteering, while improving your skills and competences for personal, educational, and professional development. Non-formal and formal learning opportunities during the program will enable you to acquire essential competences for personal growth in order to become an Active Global Citizen, thereby improving your employment prospects and facilitating your transition into the labor market.

There are  various projects in this program in conference Centers, which are looking for young, highly motivated team members to play an active part in their organization and to contribute to the daily work routine of the organization.

Project Description in Conference Centers

Conference Centers offer events and seminars on various topics like history, current social, ecological and political topics and issues. They also offer discussions, workshops, exhibitions and creative activities.  The work maily focuses on adult education and training in groups. Visitors often have the chance to stay overnight.

Volunteers’ tasks would range from office work to organizing and assisting on events and trainings, caring for the visitors, cleaning dormitories and assisting in garden and kitchen work. Practical work is always part of the assignement (kitchen and other domestic tasks).

Volunteer’s report

Jona (2017) writes:If I would be asked if there is something that I would like to change, I would say none. For the past two months that I am here in my project, I was able to feel some development or improvements within myself. I learned a new skill like creating or mixing music and learned new teaching pedagogies. I learned to see things in different perspective. I am more understanding and more resilient.”

Karen (2017) writes:What I like most about my work is that I can meet many people from different parts of the world and with interesting projects, but I also like that within the organization they develop different types of seminars that I can have access and do networking with the people. As well there are creative and cultural events taking part and I can attend to them. I’m experiencing constant changes and I am free to express myself in my project and talk about what I like or what I would like to do and they support me in doing other activities to learn something new.”
