Teach at-risk youth necessary skills to thrive in school and in their community, in the capital of the Dominican Republic.
The centre provides education and training to children from families who come from extreme poverty and high-risk situations. Their mission is to be a home that welcomes, a school that educates, and a church that evangelizes. The centre offers a residential area for homeless kids and teens as well as an education in primary, secondary, and technical schools. After-school activities, such as sports, arts, and religion are also offered. You can work in the residential area for homeless kids and teens, teach in primary school, and assist in sports and arts programs.
You will be guided and supported by the school staff while taking part in orientations upon arrival, during mid-stay, and at the end of your stay. During these orientations, you’ll learn about the importance of relationship-building with your host family and local community. The program also welcomes new ideas and suggestions by volunteers.
